Save the date: GloPID-R Africa Hub Launch August 22-23, 2023

The launch of the GloPID-R Africa Hub will take place in Cape Town, South Africa on August 22-23, 2023. The Africa Hub is hosted by the South African Medical Research Council (SAMRC) under the leadership of Professor Charles Wiysonge.

As part of the GloPID-R Regional Hub strategy, the Africa Hub will facilitate the coordination of funders of research on infectious diseases with pandemic and epidemic potential while helping to strengthen regional ownership and address inequity in the distribution of research funding. The initiation of the Africa Hub has been made possible thanks to a grant from EDCTP (European and Developing Countries Clinical Trials Partnership) funded by the UK Department of Health & Social Care.
