The Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness Innovations (CEPI)
On November 22, GloPID-R observer CEPI announced the expansion of its COVID-19 vaccine testing network to assess the development of vaccines against other epidemic and pandemic diseases. These include CEPI’s priority pathogens: Lassa fever, MERS, Nipah, Chikungunya, Rift Valley fever and Disease X.

WHO On-line Events
COVID-19 vaccines research: How can vaccine research further contribute to achieve the control of the pandemic everywhere?
WHO R&D Blueprint, in collaboration with CEPI and other COVAX partners, is organizing a consultation to identify vaccine research priorities. This on-line event will take place on Monday, December 6, 2021 from 1pm to 6:30pm CET.

Global Ethics and Policy Summit
The WHO Health Ethics and Governance Unit in collaboration with the WHO’s Working Group on Ethics & COVID-19 and the ACT-Accelerator Ethics & Governance Working Group, are organizing a Global Ethics and Policy Summit on Monday, December 6, 2021 from 1pm to 5:30pm CET.
The summit will provide a forum to discuss the translation of ethics into policy making during COVID-19.

GOARN joins GloPID-R as Observer
The Global Outbreak Alert and Response Network (GOARN) has joined our network as an observer. In turn, GloPID-R is now an observer of GOARN. In response to this partnership, Dr Gail Carson, GOARN Vice-Chair commented: “GOARN is delighted to be represented as an observer at the GloPID R members meetings. We look forward to contributing and sharing information to facilitate collaboration to support the common public good.”
International Conference on Public Health in Africa
Africa Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (Africa CDC) and the African Union will host the 1st International Conference on Public Health in Africa (CPHIA 2021) on December 14-16, 2021.
This three-day virtual event will provide a platform for leading health professionals, researchers, public health experts and policymakers to share perspectives and research findings while supporting stronger scientific collaboration and innovation across the African continent.
