EDTP3

Global Health EDCT3P Work Programme 2025

The Global Health EDCTP3 Work Programme 2025 has been published and is the largest and most ambitious Work Programme since the creation of the Joint Undertaking, in 2021. The programme includes four calls for proposals covering seven topics, with a total budget of €214 million.

The calls will support a range of Research and Innovation Actions (RIA) aimed at developing novel vaccines and therapeutics for tuberculosis, malaria, and neglected tropical diseases

Global Health EDCTP3 will also explore new approaches and ways of collaboration to promote greater efficiency in 2025. A pilot on lump sum contributions in the grant agreements for two call topics is being considered, and more flexible ways of working with contributing partners will be introduced to facilitate increased engagement with Global Health EDCTP3 and forge new and stronger partnerships. You can learn more about the Work Programme here.

Interdisciplinary research to tackle epidemic threats – UKRI

UK Research & Innovation (UKRI), in partnership with the UK’s Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs and the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office, has just launched a new funding opportunity ‘Interdisciplinary research to tackle epidemic threats – UKRI’. The opportunity aims to better understand, predict and prevent (re-)emergence of infectious animal, human or plant diseases of epidemic potential through support of ambitious interdisciplinary research that crosses the disciplinary remits of the seven constituent Research Councils of UKRI. The opportunity will invest a minimum of £20 million over five years. The conducting of this research will enhance our capability to respond to epidemic threats, through stimulating interdisciplinary research capacity and expertise. Project leads must be based at a UK research organisation eligible for UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) funding and can include project co-leads (international). The deadline for applications is 19 June, 4pm UK time.
