New Variant SARS-CoV-2 Web conference

GloPID-R members gathered virtually on December 23, 2020 to discuss the new variant of SARS-CoV-2.
GloPID-R Scientific Advisor, Marion Koopmans, presented an understanding of viral mutations and the biological implications; updates were provided by GloPID-R Vice chairs: Jeremy Farrar for the UK and Charles Wiysonge for South Africa. Further information for the UK was given by the University of Oxford and the WHO presented their situation update and expert guidance.
