GLOPID-R

GloPID-R receives recognition for spearheading coordination of funding

In the April 2021 publication COVID-19 Research and Innovation Achievements, GloPID-R is recognized by the WHO R&D Blueprint Team for its leading role in the coordination of global funding.

Such work is critical to advance the effectiveness, speed and focus of research in response to the pandemic, and our global alliance of funders makes an essential contribution by identifying gaps to ensure that funding is aligned with need. This is particularly important for resource-limited countries, which are severely impacted by the huge discrepancies in the distribution of funding for research on infectious diseases and pandemic preparedness. Collaboration to support LMICs is one of GloPID-R’s key focus areas.
