Data Sharing Working Group
In the coming months, the Data Sharing Working Group will be prioritizing work to align funder policies and conditions to mandate research data sharing in public health emergencies.
As part of its broader engagement work on data sharing in public health emergencies, the Wellcome Trust hosted a meeting to understand non-governmental organizations’ (NGO) perspectives on data sharing for research in public health emergencies on June 13, 2017 at which International Severe Acute Respiratory and Emerging Infection Consortium (ISARIC), WHO and the UK’s Department for International Development (DFID) were also represented.
The Wellcome Trust participated in a panel discussion on “Data Sharing for Emergencies: What are the Barriers?” as part of the 7th International Conference on Digital Health on July 2-5, 2017 in London, UK. The panel took place on Wednesday July 5th from 4-5 pm.
The group also looks forward to sharing findings from a commissioned study on existing data platforms and systems to support research data sharing in public health emergencies over the summer.
