CSA BE READY Workshop on Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda for pandemic preparedness
On January 10, 2024, CSA BE READY, a project funded by the European Commission and coordinated by ANRS | EID, hosted a pivotal gathering of international stakeholders from 19 EU Member States, Georgia, Norway, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom, at the ‘Development and Priorities: Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda of the future European Partnership on pandemic preparedness’ workshop.

Kick-off meeting of CSA COMECT ‘Coordinating Mechanisms for Cohorts and Trials’
The kick-off meeting of the CSA COMECT took place on January 22, 2024, coordinated by the Norwegian Institute of Public Health. The objective of this project is to strengthen the preparedness of clinical research networks in Europe by sustaining established coordination mechanisms for European adaptive platform trials and/or for cohorts. ANRS | EID is leading the sub work-package in charge of the Outbreak Response Board.
Partnerships
German Center for Infection Research
The German Center for Infection Research (DZIF) and ANRS | EID announced their commitment to advance collaborative research in the fields of HIV/AIDS, viral hepatitis, tuberculosis, and emerging infectious diseases by signing a MoU on November 6, 2023. Within this framework, DZIF and ANRS | EID plan to jointly assess research priorities, participate in scientific events and working groups, and promote the sharing of information and the value of research results within their communities and networks.

WHO/GTB
Prof. Yazdan Yazdanpanah, Director of ANRS | EID, recently met with Prof. Jérôme SALOMON (WHO Assistant Director General), Dr. Tereza Kasaeva (Director of the Global Tuberculosis Programme or WHO/GTB), and Dr. Meg Doherty, Director of the Global HIV, Hepatitis and STIs Programmes (WHO/HHS). The meeting was held to extend the scope of the partnership signed between ANRS | EID and WHO on research cooperation and knowledge transfer on tuberculosis, following the MoU signed in 2022 on HIV, hepatitis and sexually transmitted infections.
