March 29 & 30, 2021 – online event

GloPID-R & UKCDR’s COVID CIRCLE in collaboration with the COVID-19 Clinical Research Coalition held an online event on the theme of COVID-19 Research in Low- and Middle-Income Countries on March 29 & 30, 2021 from 12:00 to 16:00 (BST).
This meeting brought together global research funders, including those who are funding research on COVID-19 within low- and middle- income countries, with the community of researchers who are actively undertaking this research across LMICs.

The four main topics of discussion were:
- Clinical research networks & clinical research
- Health systems & indirect impacts of COVID-19
- One Health
- Transmission
The co-chairs and presenters participated in a discussion panel to conclude each session and the closing discussions focused on lessons learnt, persistent research system gaps, research priorities and actionable next steps.
