GloPID-R welcomes the publication of the WHO Technical Brief ‘Research Prioritization for Pandemic and Epidemic Intelligence’ published online on May 23, to which members of the GloPID-R Secretariat contributed.

On April 9, 2024, Professor Peter Piot and Dr. Heidi Larson made a visit to the Charité Center for Global Health (CCGH), host of the GloPID-R Secretariat.
Organizational changes to the GloPID-R Secretariat with the arrival of a new Communication Team
As of July 1st, following the move to Charité in Berlin, the GloPID-R Communication Team will be changing. The new team will be comprised of a Communications & Engagement Manager and a Media Manager.

The CIHR Centre for Research on Pandemic Preparedness and Health Emergencies (CRPPHE) has accelerated this funding opportunity in response to the rapidly evolving H5N1 situaion.
Global Health EDCTP3GH EDCTP3 Emergency call on Mpox
Global Health EDCTP3 have launched an emergency call for proposals worth 6.5M €, with the aim of improving knowledge of the Mpox virus and feeding into national and international strategies for preparing for and responding to this public health emergency. ANRS MIE has contributed 500K € to this emergency call.
U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS)Two new Funding calls
There are 2 funding opportunities from the Centers for Research in Emerging Infectious Diseases (CREID), a network of emerging infectious disease research centers in regions around the globe where emerging and re-emerging infectious disease outbreaks are likely to occur. It was established by the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Disease (NIAID). NIAID is part of NIH, an agency of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS).

Wellcome Infectious Disease Award: Understanding dengue and Zika spread, immunity and clinical outcomes
