MRC/UKRI calls for projects on COVID-19 vaccine responses and on disease severity in India and the UK
MRC/UKRI has launched a call to investigate SARS-CoV-2 vaccine responses and immune failure and funding for four projects to understand COVID-19 severity in India and the UK.
Investigate SARS-CoV-2 vaccine responses and immune failure
This is a £3m call for projects seeking to examine one or both:
- The nature and quality of SARS-CoV-2 vaccine responses
- The mechanisms of immune failure that lead to either SARS-CoV-2 re-infection or vaccine breakthrough.
The closing date is June 8, 2021.
£5m to understand COVID-19 severity in India and the UK
In addition, MRC/UKRI has also announced funding for 4 projects jointly supported by UKRI’s Fund for International Collaboration and India’s Department of Biotechnology (DBT) to provide a deeper understanding of COVID-19 severity in South Asian populations located in India and the UK. The successful projects will aim to understand the pandemic through the study of related ethnic groups in different environments in both countries.
