GLOPID-R

Data Sharing Working Group

The Data Sharing Working group progresses on Principles for Data Sharing in Public Health Emergencies (PHE) and actively continues to raise awareness about the necessity of data sharing at key events.

Global Evidence Summit 2017

In May 2017, the Data Sharing Working Group invited a variety of key stakeholders to provide feedback on The Principles for Data Sharing in PHEs draft. Many from the scientific community responded during the open consultation process and now the document is being revised based on the feedback. The latest version will be available for review in late Fall 2017.

Continuing to inform stakeholders on the importance of sharing data during public health emergencies, Katherine Littler, Data Sharing Working Group Chair, participated in a panel discussion on “Impact and Evaluation of Research: Perspectives from Funders and Users of Research” at The Global Evidence Summit on September 13-17, 2017.

The Data Sharing Working Group circulated a short survey to GloPID-R members on organizational policies, statements and positions on data sharing for public health emergencies. The survey results are intended to inform work to improve coordination and alignment between funders on the area of data sharing – a high priority for the group.
