Scientific facilitation

  • The annual ANRS | EID Scientific Days were held on March 21 and 22, 2023 in Paris. This event highlighted collaboration and transversality through five sessions, during which distinguished speakers gave updates on promising themes and young scientists presented their work.
  • Dr. Eric d’Ortenzio (ANRS | EID) and Nguyen Thi Minh Tam (Vietnam Authority of HIV/AIDS Control) moderated a workshop on the margins of the Global Fund Board meeting in Hanoi, on May 8, 2023, on the theme “From Research to Implementation: Partnering for People-Centered Care for People who Inject Drugs in Vietnam”.
  • The scientific days of the ANRS | EID partner site in Senegal took place on May 16 and 17, 2023 in Dakar, on the theme “Facing epidemics, from research to health policies”. This event was also an opportunity to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the partnership.

International Network

  • On March 4, 2023, the new international research platform in global health (PRISME) was inaugurated in the Democratic Republic of Congo around the National Institute of Biomedical Research (INRB), headed by Professor Jean-Jacques Tamfum Muyembe (co-discoverer of the Ebola virus), in the presence of Emmanuel Macron, President of the French Republic.

  • The Research Support Foundation of the State of São Paulo (FAPESP), Inserm and ANRS | EID signed a memorandum of understanding on March 29, 2023 to promote their cooperation in scientific research. The aim is to strengthen cooperation and links between the scientific communities of the State of São Paulo and France, in the field of research on HIV/AIDS, viral hepatitis, STIs, tuberculosis, emerging and re-emerging infectious diseases, immunology, neuroscience, genetics, chronic diseases and cancer.

Upcoming events

  • The ANRS | EID 2023 International Network Days will be held on June 19 – 20, in the presence of UNITAID and WHO. The aim is to take stock of collaborative research and its international perspectives.
  • The ANRS | EID and the French National Research Institute for Sustainable Development (IRD), with the support of the University of Montpellier, are organizing the first workshop on “One Health research in the context of international epidemics” on June 22nd and 23rd, 2023 in Montpellier, France, and online (link to register below).
